Oh Carole! The Songs of Carole King and Neil Sedaka
Tuesday, August 06, 2019
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Oh Carole
They were two of the biggest hit-makers of the 60s and 70s -and they dated in high school! Yes, Neil Sedaka hired a tux, borrowed his dad’s car and drove Carole King to the prom!

They never wrote a song together but continued to support and inspire each other as they worked side by side in New York’s legendary hit factory, The Brill Building.

‘Oh Carole!’ is a toe-tapping tribute to the most joyful era of pop music and two of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Their hits include ‘Will You Love Me Tomorrow’, ‘Calendar Girl’, ‘Natural Woman’, ‘Stupid Cupid’, ‘The Locomotion’, ‘Breaking Up Is Hard to Do’, ‘Love Will Keep Us Together’, ‘I Feel the Earth Move’, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’, and many more!

Success with Seeds and Seedlings - with Olwyn Smiley of The Backyard Vegetable
Monday, August 19, 2019
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Raising plants from seed is cheaper than buying seedlings. However it is not always easy to grow plants from seed, or from a punnet of seedlings. Forgetting to water can be tragic, and snails can happily munch through every newly planted seedling in one night. Here we look at strategies for successful propagation while also giving a second life to "waste" materials. The BackYard Vegetable aims to encourage home food growing with a consultation service, trouble-shooting, and on-going mentoring.
