Nutrition for Seniors featuring Ngaire Hobbins

Ngaire Hobbins is a writer, speaker and educator on food, ageing and brain health. She is an Australian dietitian, whose passion is in supporting older adults to enjoy vital, independent lives through nutrition. Whether frail or fighting fit, living with dementia or learning about cognitive decline, Ngaire provides recipes, recommendations and research to empower and enrich your senior years. This is an information session where Ngaire will be sharing tips out of her Better Brain Food book.

Athol Guy - The Seekers Story

Celebrating one of the country’s most revered music groups, Athol Guy – The Seekers Story, is a musical and visual spectacular that takes the audience on a journey from the 60s through to modern day.

Athol Guy – bassist and one of The Seekers’ founding members – is joined by an all-star cast including 60s pop-star Buddy England for a special guest appearance, as well as Rod Hulls (keyboards & vocals), Jenny Blake (vocals) and Michael Cristiano (guitar & vocals) for this trip down memory lane.

Workshop - Starting Your Spring Vegetable Garden

Learn how to start your own Spring vegetable garden for a bountiful Summer harvest.

Knox City Council are now partnering with Yarra Ranges Council to bring Gardens for Harvest to residents of both municipalities. To launch this new partnership, we are holding a workshop to inspire everyone to start planting for spring!

Maria Ciavarella, veggie growing expert from ‘My Green Garden’ will share tips on how to start a veggie garden and what to plant in spring to enjoy a bountiful veggie garden over the summer months.

This is a free event. A light supper will be provided.

Older Men New Ideas (OMNI) - Men's discussion group

Knox Amplified: Cabaret Showcase

The Knox Amplified Cabaret Showcase Program provided an exciting opportunity for local amatuer performers to work with multi award winning cabaret performers/producers, Melissa Langton and Mark Jones.
Following auditions, six lucky performers were selected to participate in workshops at Knox Community Arts Centre with Melissa and Mark throughout July and August.

They have been working on writing cabaret scripts, microphone technique, lighting a show, structuring and developing a cabaret show.

Come along and support our local talent as they perform their original cabaret shows at Knox Community Arts Centre.

Saturday 25 August 5pm & 8pm

Adults $10, Concession/Child $5 (non-allocated seating)

IMPORTANT - Please be aware that some of the content of our cabaret shows have adult themes, particularly for the 8pm show. Parent / guardian discretion is advised when purchasing tickets for children under 15 years.

Radio Controlled Model Aircraft

The VARMS club runs free training in the flying of radio controlled gliders every second Sunday throughout the year. This training is open to the public. It’s a great way to learn how to fly radio controlled gliders and to find out about this fantastic sport, hobby and pastime.
