Eastern Regional Libraries is a cooperative venture of three outer eastern municipalities - Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. It is the largest library system in Victoria with 13 branch and 3 mobile libraries. Library membership is free and members may borrow items from any of these branches or mobiles.

| Knox Libraries | | The region has a collection of 700,000 books and other items such as videos, music CD's, magazines, newspapers, CD ROM's and books on tape. The libraries within the region also provide access to information through family history CD ROM and microfiche records, CD ROM data bases, back issues of newspapers and magazines, and the Internet. There are also PC's for word processing, photocopiers, and a fax service.
Programs of guest speakers, displays, book discussion clubs, new book days, participation in local festivals and housebound services are a feature, and for children there are regular pre-school story times, school holiday and after-school activities.
