| The Knox Skate and BMX Park | | The Knox Skate and BMX Park is located within Gilbert Park on Ferntree Gully Road in Knoxfield, car parking available off Forbes Close (Melways Reference 73 B6).
The park was designed through extensive consultation with skaters and bike riders. It caters for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced riders. Specific features include euro gap, slide rail, quarter pipe to vert pillar, 1.5m shallow bowl, 2.7m deep bowl, 2.5m hemisphere cup, grind blocks to flat bank, diamond fun box, stairs rails, and a manual pad. The surfaces include concrete, granite and metal.
The associated facilities at the site and the surrounding area include shade structures, seating, drinking fountains, car parking, toilets, BBQ facilities and a playground.
The Knox Skate and BMX Park was officially opened on Saturday 5 April 2008. The day included Skate and BMX competitions, giveaways, food, a photo competition and an official opening ceremony by the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Youth Affairs, Mr James Merlino, MP and the Mayor, Mr Jim Penna.
The park is for use during daylight hours only. Rules of use are available on site.
