According to the 2006 census, 25% of Knox residents were born overseas, coming from over 130 different countries. More than 25,000 Knox residents speak a language other than English at home.

The Knox Multicultural Advisory Committee was launched in 2009 to provide Council with advice on Multicultural issues and promote greater awareness and understanding in the local community of cultural diversity in Knox.
