The Ferntree Gully Community Arts Centre is located at the base of the Dandenong Ranges, nestled in a peaceful bushland setting with native gardens.

It is a hub of activity and creativity offering a program of art classes for adults and children with a focus on clay, gentle fitness activities and school holiday workshops.

The venue is also available for hire and used by a number of community groups for meetings, special events and functions.

Art and craft classes
Acrylics and oil painting for beginners and advanced with Martine Cleven
Oil painting for beginners and ongoing. This course covers a broad spectrum of oil painting, including still life and landscapes, mixing and build up of colour and the development of composition and dimension.
Beginners and those who have painted before are welcome as every student receives individual tuition- working at their own level.
Monday 1:30-3:30pm

Term 1 - $111.50 (7 weeks)
Term 2 - $174.90 (11 weeks)

Watercolour, pastels & drawing with Farimah Eshraghi
This short course will develop your skills and techniques and is suitable for both experienced and beginner students.
Wednesday 10am - 12noon
Term 1 - $132.60 (8 weeks)
Term 2 - $132.60 (8 weeks)

"Discover the artist within"
Mandalas with Nathalie Davids
Let yourself be guided by Nathalie through an 8-week course based on the theme 'Reasons to Live, Love, Laugh'; where you will engage in self-discovery and the power of self-healing through the beautiful art form of mandalas. No art experience is necessary, just a passion to have some fun!
Thursday 6-9pm
Term 2 commencing 18 April-6 June (8 weeks)
Cost $205.00 (includes all materials)
 
Pottery classes
Adult Pottery
With Margaret Boyle and Janet Duncan
Our experienced instructors teach the art of ceramics, covering both wheel and hand building work, decorative techniques and glazing. Intermediate and experienced students welcome.
Monday 7:30-10:30pm
Tuesday 7-10pm
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9:30am - 12:30pm
Term 1- $160.40 (8 weeks)
Term 2 - $220.60 (11 weeks)

Children's Pottery classes
These classes offer your child a fantastic creative outlet and are designed for children aged 5-15 years.
Experienced tutors supervise the classes.
Weekday Classes 4:30- 6pm
Saturday 10- 11.30am
Term 1- $103.60 (8 weeks)
Term 2 - $142.50 (11 weeks)
Please note: No classes available on Mondays

Decoration of Clay Workshop
Come and watch Glenn England and be inspired by decoration on clay using body stains, slips, sgriffito and many more techniques including wheel demonstrations. hands-on with most of these forms of decoration.

Clay sales and firing time
Clay can be purchased and firing time is available to class participants and non students.
Clay is purchased in 10kg blocks. Students $9.50, non-students $11.90 per 10 kg block.
Clay firing is for a mimium of 1kg. Students $3.20, non-students $5.20 per 1 kg.
 
School holiday pottery program
Children work on projects that can be achieved in one or many sessions with tutors experienced in school holiday workshops. Both hand building and pottery wheel classes are offered. Contact the centre to book on 9758 9180.
Next school holidays are Tuesday 2-12 April and 1-12 July
Monday to Friday. 10am to 11.30am or 1pm to 2.30pm
$14.50 per session

We have a number of fitness and lifestyle classes.

Yoga with Sandy Jensen

Venue hire
The Ferntree Gully Community Arts Centre is located at the base of the Dandenong Ranges, nestled in a peaceful bushland setting. The community facilities consist of fully air conditioned function and meeting rooms, arts and craft facilities and kitchen. There is ample off street parking. It can accommodate meetings for up to 100 people and sit-down functions for up to 70 people.
