Sleep & Teens; Parent Information Workshop October 2016

Teens that are grumpy, tired and moody? Sound familiar?
For teens, sleep is especially complicated due to changes in brain chemistry, busy social and online lives, and the sheer amount of study.

Parents the evening will be about looking at the essentials of good sleep for young people, as well as tools parents/carers can use to start this conversation with their teenagers and some simple tips for improved sleep and less mood swings!

4 Me

4 Me is a support program that embraces the diversity of same sex atteracted, gender diverse and questioning young people aged 14 - 18 years, who live, work, study or hang out in the City of Knox.

4 Me provides a safe environment for young people to explore relationships with themselves, others and their community.

KYS Brochure

The Knox Youth Services brochure provides an outline of our Programs and Services for Young People, Programs and Services for Families, Parents and Carers and Schools, Agencies and others that are advocating for Young People. Download the KYS brochure below.

KYS Resource Poster

The 2012 Knox Youth Services Resource Poster is designed for schools, agencies, general practitioners and workers that provide support and guidance to young people between the ages of 10 – 25 years in Knox.

The Knox Youth Information Centre (YIC) and other agencies, predominantly in the local area, are included on the Knox Youth Services Resource Poster.

Knox Youth Clinic

The Knox Youth Clinic is a free service for young people 12-25 years, located at Knox headspace in the Knox O-Zone and is available each Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon from 2-5pm.

The clinic provides free and confidential services to young people, for a range of health care matters, such as: sexual health, mental health, and drug and alcohol issues. Young people can see the Youth Nurse and be linked in with a local youth friendly GP if required at the Knox headspace facility.

Material Aid and Food Parcels

Knox City Council is the broker of emergency relief funding and funds four agencies within Knox to deliver food parcels and vouchers to families and/or individuals in financial crisis.

Council itself provides funding to Eastern Access Community Health (EACH) for the provision of financial counselling services and Knox Community Health Service (KCHS) for the provision of generalist counselling services. The Youth Information Centre also provides counselling for 12 - 24 years, advice referral, support and programs for young people who are living, working, recreating or studying in the City of Knox.
