Stamford Park - A living jewel in the City of Knox

Stamford Park Redevelopment

Occupying 45 hectares of natural habitat, waterways and open space, Stamford Park is being developed into a place of true beauty – a place where people can live, work, play and enjoy life.

Stamford Park is also a place of historical significance. At the heart of Stamford Park is the Stamford Park Homestead, surrounded by its exotic Gardens. Built in 1882 by Edward Row, this living link to early European settlement is one of the last remaining 19th Century country Homestead in Knox and the region. The development will see the Homestead restored and sympathetically expanded to include a premier restaurant and dining experience.

Council Vision. Community Aspiration.

Stamford Park encompasses four unique but integrated precincts: the Historic Precinct, Park Precinct, Commercial Precinct and the Residential Precinct. Knox City Council is responsible for the Master Plan and integrating these precincts in line with one overarching vision.

Knox City Council’s vision will see Stamford Park transformed into a beautiful and significant urban place of local, national and international standing, in keeping with the community’s passion for the area.

For residents and visitors alike, Stamford Park will offer country living and an authentic values based lifestyle, 28 kilometres south east of Melbourne’s CBD and en route to the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Stamford Park will become one of Australia’s most sought-after locations for generations to come.

Community Reference Group

Knox Council’s Stamford Park Development in Rowville has had the benefit of input from a Community Reference Group, established in 2008, and comprising local residents, representatives of local community organisations with an interest in the project, local businesses, and relevant State Government Statutory Authorities. The Reference Group has 15 members and provides advice about community needs to Council’s Stamford Park Project Steering Committee. The Stamford Park Community Reference Group is an important and highly valued source of input for the project, and needs passionate people to continue to support the Stamford Park Development as it moves towards completion.

Project Summary

Following successful Master planning and land rezoning phases between 2010 to 2014, the Stamford Park Development has now moved to the delivery phase. The 11 lot Stamford Park Commercial Estate currently being developed by Australand provides a range of business premises from Corporate Headquarters to smaller individual 2 level warehouse/office premises. A 6.5 hectare residential estate is also planned for Stamford Park and will comprise around 190 dwellings. The residential Estate will be developed by Stockland and will be Knox’s first Greenstar residential community. The development will offer a range of homes and allotment sizes catering for wide range of needs. The net proceeds from the sale will enable Council to fund the renovation of the historic 1880’s Stamford Park Homestead as well as the design and construction of public facilities at Stamford Park.

Stamford Park Greenstar Residential Community

Stockland has submitted its Development Plan for the Stamford Park Estate to Council for approval. For more information on the Development Plan, visit the Stamford Park – Development Park webpage.

Earthworks for the proposed residential estate are anticipated to commence in late December 2016 or early 2017, depending on permits and prevailing weather conditions.
