Personal Support

Knox City Council provides an integrated range of services for people who are frail, older and/or have a disability and their carers.

Personal Support assists eligible people with tasks that they have difficulty in performing without assistance, because of health, disability or frailty. This support is provided in a manner that encourages you to maintain your independence.

This service can provide assistance with

  • Showering
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Prompting to take medication
  • Meal preparation and supervision
  • Toileting and other personal hygiene needs
  • Occupational Therapist services to eligible clients

All services are subject to an assessment in your home. The aim of the assessment is to identify how we can best support you and promote an independent and active lifestyle.

Services are provided after taking into account eligibility, assessed need and available resources. The cost of the service is dependent upon income.

All staff are professional, experienced and qualified to perform their duties.
Personal Support is available between 6am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.
