Eastern Regional Libraries (ERL) is a cooperative venture of three outer eastern municipalities - Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. It is the largest library system in Victoria with 13 branches and 2 mobile libraries. Library membership is free and members may borrow items from any of these library branches or mobiles.
Eastern Regional Libraries provides collections of books, DVDs, music CDs, magazines, newspapers, CD ROMs and audio books. The libraries within the region also provide access to information through a wide range of online resources.
Information can be accessed via the ERL website erl.vic.gov.au. Library members can also reserve materials and check their library records via the website. Photocopiers and a fax service are also available.
Programs of guest speakers, displays, book discussion clubs, new book days, participation in local festivals and housebound services are a feature. For children there are regular preschool story times, school holiday and after-school activities.
Each branch library provides free internet access, free WiFi and an after-hours return chute.
