Walking in Knox

Walking can improve health, strengthen social and community connections, reduce the cost of living, contribute to safer and more liveable communities and even help save the planet (Victoria Walks).

Knox has an extensive footpath network with over 1,200km of footpath within the municipality. Knox City Council aims to continually maintain and upgrade the footpath network to ensure that walking is a safe, accessible and viable form of transport.

As part of Knox City Council's review of our pedestrian network, we are collaborating with Victoria Walks, CrowdSpot and TAC to understand people's perceptions of walking safety at locations across Metropolitan Melbourne.

Tell us where you feel safe to walk or not by adding a spot on our interactive map. Add a spot and give feedback on how we can improve or highlight where we've got it right.

Heart Foundation Walking groups are a great way for community members to make new friends and look after their health.

Walking Groups are FREE with a local volunteer walk organisers leading each group on a designated walking route through their community.
