In order to ensure that Council maintains a safe and effective infrastructure, the City of Knox requires that all work within Council Owned or Managed Land be done within Council guidelines and specifications.

Enquiries regarding requests to conduct works within Council Owned or Managed Land within the Municipality can be made in several ways:
  • In person to Council’s Customer Service Counters at the Civic Centre or Rowville
  • Internet, Email, Fax or Letter

For an online application for Council Reserve Access Permit please click on Works within Municipal Road Reserves. For a hard copy form click on the link below.

The consent process for working in Council Owned or Managed Land consists of the following steps:

Step 1 Customer completes 'Council Reserve Access Permit' form - Notification of proposed works - and submits it to Council.

Step 2 An Asset Protection officer will inspect the site to consider the request.

Step 3 If denied, customer will be notified in writing and given reasons why. If approved, a 'Council Reserve Access Permit' form is lodged along with the fee and payment of a bond.

Step 4 Council inspects the site and the applicant is notified in writing of the outcome. If the works are completed as per the permit the bond is then released.

If you would like any further information, please contact Council's Asset Preservation Officer on 9298 8517.
