Come over to our place....Knox!

Our Place is the theme for the Knox Festival 2010. Through music and art, culture and invention we will present the rich mixture of what is and what is possible in Knox.

Our Place is about history, community and creativity. It is about our communities' talents and skills, life and colour.

Our premier community event is full of art making and viewing, food cooking and consuming, music playing and listening, fashion designing and wearing, community building and architectural building, being seen and seeing each other.

2009 Knox Festival
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Knox Festival such a great success!

The Festival attracted more than 40,000 visitors across the weekend (27 February to 1 March), with a wonderful $22,000 being raised for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

One of the many highlights of the Festival was the Torchlight Parade on Saturday night that saw CFA crews from many local and visiting fire brigades turn out. The parade attracted as many as 8,000 people.

Knox Festival Background
For 30 years, the Knox Festival has entertained locals and visitors alike and has become one of the most fabulous fixtures on our community calendar, featuring more than 60 free workshops and activities, 300 community performers side-by-side with some of Australia’s best known artists, rides, stalls and two excitement packed days jammed with music and dancing.

Oppy Bike Ride
The Oppy Ride is a free event commemorating Australian cycling great, Sir Hubert Opperman with two courses – a 14.5km main circuit for fitter, more experienced riders meanders through Ferntree Gully, Upper Ferntree Gully and Wantirna South and a short 2km circuit starts at the Knox Regional Netball Centre and ends at the Knox Festival site.
