Knox City Council's Community Development Fund provides financial support to enable local not-for-profit community groups to undertake various events, services and activities that meet local needs and support Knox's Council Plan 2009-13.

| Community Development Fund 2013-14 | | The 6 week application period for the 2013-14 funding round will open Monday 27 May and close at 5pm Friday 5 July 2013. The Community Development Fund Evaluation Panel will then review all applications and submit their recommendations to Council in late September. Following this process, applicants will receive notification of the outcome of their application by post. | |
| Developing a Successful Application | | Before submitting an application community groups and organisations are encouraged to: | |
 | Complete an expression of interest; or |  | Attend a 'Let's Work Together' Community Development Fund information session; |  | Speak to Council's Community Resourcing Officer or a member of the Community Strengthening Team. |

| Let's Work Together information sessions | | Groups interested in applying for a Community Development Fund grant are advised to attend a free 'Let's Work Together' session, where you will have the opportunity to work with both Council and other community groups to stengthen your project and application potential. Our facilitator will walk you through the eligibility criteria, guidelines, online application form and evaluation requirements.

| Eligibility Criteria & Guidelines | | Copies of the 2013-14 Community Development Fund Guidelines can be downloaded here. If you require a printed copy, please contact the Community Strengthening Team at cdf@knox.vic.gov.au or 9298 8312.
Applications for funding should: | |
 | Focus on a specific project, service or event;
|  | Describe how success will be measured;
|  | Have clear time lines;
|  | Include a comprehensive breakdown of costings;
|  | Where possible be innovative & demonstrate local partnerships;
|  | Not unnecessarily duplicate an existing program. |
|
|
 | Be not-for-profit;
|  | Provide direct services, support or benefit to Knox residents;
|  | Have a Committee of Management or similar. |
|
|
 | Have well defined outcomes;
|  | Target a demonstrated need in the Knox community;
|  | Establish a clear need for Council’s financial support;
|  | Be commenced and completed within twelve months;
|  | Clearly support one of the nine pillars within the Knox Community Health & Wellbeing Strategy 2009-2013. |

| Grant Categories | | Three categories of funding are available:
Category 1 – up to and including $2,000;
Category 2 – more than $2,000 and up to $20,000; and
Category 3 – up to $5,000 for annual community events established for longer than 3 years. | |
