Food Safety includes monitoring food premises and the implementation of Food Safety Programs, food product labelling, managing food stall permits and investigating consumer complaints. All businesses that prepare, store, transport and/or sell food must be registered under the Food Act 1984. Knox Council's Health Services Unit is responsible for monitoring all food premises within the Knox area to ensure all food prepared and sold is safe.
