The following outlines the basic food safety procedures that can be implemented at home to prevent food spoilage and food poisoning.

About two million people per year in Australia are affected by food poisoning. We often think that the last meal consumed caused the illness, however this is not always the case! Food poisoning can be a result of any meal consumed 72 hours prior to becoming ill.

It is not uncommon for food poisoning to occur as a result from a home cooked meal. The following provides information on food safety in the home to ensure a safer environment for your family and friends.
