What will Happen at Stamford Park?

Council recognises the need for a mix of community recreation, leisure and housing uses on site. The area sits within a precinct set aside for significant employment opportunities in Rowville and the region. Development and activities on site will take place in an environmentally sustainable way. Stamford Park presents an ideal opportunity to achieve these aims in a way that captures the community’s input and imagination.

Over the next few months, Council will be seeking community input into the potential uses for the site and the best ways to link the various elements.

How Will The Stamford Park Project Be Funded?

The intention is for the Stamford Park project to be self funding to eliminate the need to call upon rates for its development. Negotiations are underway with Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water for funding contributions to the proposed paths and wetlands.

How Can I Make A Difference?

Although the broad uses have been established, there are many aspects of the project which require community input, such as how each of these precincts will connect, what forms of recreational use will best suit the site, and what are the optimal uses for the homestead.
