| Aim of the game… To collect the most number of card ‘families’. 1 family = father, mother & 2 children.
How to play… All ages can play; between 2 and 4 players. Simply download the cut-out playing deck from the website and check that you’ve got 7 families. Comprising a mum, dad and two children per family. Mix up the cards and deal out 7 random cards to each player. Put the remaining pile in the middle. All players check if they can make a family using four of the cards. If you can, call out ‘FAMILY’ and put that group to the side.
Finding more families… To get more cards, and complete your family, decide who will go first. ‘Player A’ gets to ask the next player for a particular family member (eg. ‘Have you got a daughter can, ‘Name’?’). Call out ‘FAMILY’ whenever you complete a group. If the answer is ‘No’, pick up a card from the deck. Now move on to the next player.
The winner… When the deck runs out, everyone counts the number of families they have. The winner has the most families. | |
