Fees and Charges - Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008

The following Public Health and Wellbeing Act Registration fees and charges are valid from 1 January 2019 until 31 December 2019. No GST is applicable.

Please note that all Public Health and Wellbeing Act Registrations are paid on an annual basis from 1 January to 31 December. Registration fees are applied on a half yearly pro-rata basis depending on when your application and payment are received. Please contact Health Compliance if you have any questions about fees.

Public Health and Wellbeing Act registrations are valid until 31 December regardless of when you apply during the year. A renewal notice is sent to proprietors toward the end of the year. If you continue to operate into the following year the full 12 months registration fee will apply.

Prescribed Accommodation Registration Fees & Charges

The following accommodation registration fees and charges are applicable from 1 January 2019 until 31 December 2019. GST Exempt.

Penalties for Late Payment of Registration Renewal

All registrations lapse on 31 December of each year. It is important to ensure you lodge your renewal of registration with the applicable fee prior to this date, as failure to do so could mean that you are trading unregistered after 1 January of the following year.

Laws governing all businesses that require registration with Council’s Health Compliance make it an offence to be trading without a current registration. Penalties for trading unregistered can result in the:

  • Issuing of a Penalty Infringement Notice (PIN)
  • Commencement of legal action being taken against you through the court system.

PIN penalties applicable for the various laws administered by Council’s Health Compliance include:

  • Four penalty units for individuals and ten penalty units for companies for Public Health and Wellbeing Act breaches.
  • Ten penalty units for all parties breaching the Residential Tenancies (Caravan Parks and Movable Dwellings Registration and Standards) Regulations 2010.
