The network provides an opportunity to share current and future challenges for Knox seniors and to work together to develop ideas and opportunities which actively support seniors to continue to contribute and participate in the Knox Community.

Expression of Interest - Voices of Over 55s: Challenging Ageist Stereotypes

We are seeking Knox residents aged over 55 to participate in an exhibition. The exhibition is an art-based project hosted by Knox City Council’s Bright Ideas Network. At the centre of the project is a portrait exhibition and short film showcasing Knox residents who are Over 55 showing how they utilise their various skills and talents.

The purpose is to challenge ageist stereotypes by showcasing Knox residents in various situations where they are making a contribution in some way. Perhaps to their community, environment, economy, family or local club.

We believe the ageist stereotypes portrayed in society do not truly reflect what it means to become older. We would like the exhibition to challenge viewers perceived ideas of ageing.

For details and to register, please complete the Expression of Interest form by Friday 30 August 2019. For queries, contact 9298 8000.
