Stringybark is a free community event exploring everything local, home-made, creative, sustainable and adventurous in Knox. Take a look at our program highlights and exciting stage programs.

  • Animals Galore: cute farm animals, native creatures and presentations
  • Backyard Tucker Stage: taste test the best from gourmet BBQs, jams, pickles and bush tucker with zero waste
  • Makers Market: explore all things home grown, hand-made and up-cycled and purchase some unique treasures
  • Get Active: play backyard games, jump, climb and get active with free attractions and sporty challenges
  • Busker’s Stage: in the food court where local singer songwriters share their talents
  • Children’s Play Space: giant games, toys and adventure play for the young ones
  • Community Stage: with loads of colorful performances and presentations
  • DIY Fun Stuff: get imaginative with creative arts, crafts and science play
  • Community Gardens: learn about sustainability with our local environmental groups
  • Living Local:meet local services, clubs and businesses and learn about what’s on offer in your backyard
  • Nature Playground: cubby building, animal face-painting and costume making in the playground
  • Veg Out: in the chill out space filled with books, quiet tunes and comfy stuff
  • Food Truck Feast: chose from a variety of healthy choices and festival favorites for purchase
  • Kids Cooking: activity presented by the Rowville Community kitchen, with lots of yummy treats on the menu
  • DIY Stage: learn the best techniques from our local presenters on gardening, floral art and making your own sustainable products at home
  • B-Ball Half Court: featuring all things ball including 3 x 3 comps, player appearances, referee recruitment and skill building sessions
  • The Youth Yard: strike a pose in Our Backyard Photobooth or give your table tennis skills a whirl with our friends from Youth Services and Youth Events Crew

DIY Stage

Learn the best techniques from our local presenters on gardening, floral art and making your own sustainable products at home, located in Hall 2 of the Rowville Community Centre.
Please note, most sessions are capped are 20 participants, so swing past and sign up for your spot ahead of time.

Backyard Tucker Stage

Taste test the best from gourmet BBQs, jams, pickles and bush tucker with zero waste located in the Main Area.
Enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the Backyard Tucker Stage if you are one of the first 30 Stringybark attendees from 10am.

Community Stage

The Community Stage returns to Stringybark with loads of colorful performances including dance, musical theatre, choir performances and a festival favourite, Toby the T-rex, located in Hall 1 of the Rowville Community Centre.
