New Mayor

Meet your new Mayor

Congratulations to Dobson Ward Councillor, Jake Keogh who has been elected as Mayor of Knox for the coming year.

First elected in 2016, Mayor Keogh has lived in Knox all of his life. He attended St Joseph’s College in Ferntree Gully and is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University.

An active participant in local sport, Mayor Keogh is Vice President of his local football club. Mayor Keogh is passionate about the role that local sporting clubs play in our community and the opportunities they can provide to young people.

At 23 years of age, Mayor Keogh is enthusiastic about greater community input and involvement, taking the helm at a time of significant change and growth within Knox.

“It is a great honour and privilege to be elected Mayor of the City of Knox,” Mayor Keogh said.

“It’s an exciting time in Knox with so many significant local infrastructure projects like the new Bayswater and Wantirna South early years facilities, Stamford Park and the Knox Regional Sports Park (KRSP) either underway or in active planning.”

“Under Councillor Mortimore’s leadership during the past year we have made great progress in advocating for a range of other key priorities for Council, including the development of a comprehensive public transport plan for Knox and outer eastern Melbourne, as well as securing a State Government funding commitment for KRSP,” Mayor Keogh said.

“I look forward to continuing to work with my fellow Councillors and the rest of the Council team in building on these and other significant milestones over the next year.”
