#cultureinknox Photographic Competition

What is #cultureinknox all about?

The #cultureinknox Multicultural Photographic Project is a competition to celebrate our multicultural community and is open to young people aged 10-25 years who live, work*, study or have a connection to the City of Knox.

This competition has been organised by a group of young people from The Project, who are passionate about cultural diversity in our community. The Project is supported by Knox City Council Youth Services.

The competition runs from Monday 15 January 2018 to Thursday 15 February 2018.

Themes

There are four themes for our Multicultural Photography Competition. Young people can submit photos inspired by the following themes:

  • Relationships/Family
  • Traditions/Fashion
  • Food
  • Hobbies

Photographic exhibition at Knox Festival 2018

Photographs submitted to the competition will be exhibited at this year's Knox Festival and the community can vote for their favourite photographs.

Prizes

There will be 9 prizes up for grabs including:

  • $100 Westfield vouchers
  • Double passes to Village Cinemas - to be decided through a community voting process at the 2018 Knox Festival; and
  • an Instax camera prize pack - to be awarded by The Project judging panel.

To be eligible for the awesome prizes* you should submit your photos in high-resolution JPG (max 20mb per photo) to ensure we can exhibit your work at Knox Festival 2018.

Terms and Conditions


1. #cultureinknox starts on Monday 15 January 2018 and will run until Thursday 15 February 2018.

2. #cultureinknox Photography Project is open to people aged between 10-25 years who live, work*, study or have a connection to the City of Knox.
*NB Knox City Council employees are not eligible for any prizes.

3. All photos must be submitted under one of four themes: Relationships/Family; Traditions/Fashion; Food; Hobbies

4. To be eligible for prizes all photos must be submitted digitally through the Knox City Council website #cultureinknox. Photos can be shared via Instagram @knoxyouthservices and using the hashtag #cultureinknox or through posting on Knox Youth Services Facebook wall. All photos submitted this way will be shared on Council’s Youth Services social media pages.

5. You do not need to have an Instagram or Facebook account to enter the competition. Young people aged under 13 can submit photos through the website without sharing them on social media, however you can re-gram through Instagram from a parent/guardian or friend over the age of 13 years (see Instagram account age requirements).

6. Entry into the #cultureinknox competition requires that the subjects within the photographs have given permission for their image to appear in publications, online, print media and other promotional channels.

7. You can enter as many times as you like, into as many categories as you like, however each person is only eligible to win one prize per category.

8. Photos submitted must be the entrant's own work.

9. Copyright remains with the photographer, however by entering the competition the photographer grants Knox City Council licence to use the photographs and the entrants full name for promotional purposes including publication in online and print media.

10. Knox City Councils Youth Services intends to share all photographs submitted unless the content is deemed inappropriate.

11. Entries will be shared on Instagram @knoxyouthservices and Facebook page - facebook.com/knoxyouthservices
We encourage participants to re-gram and link to original post and use #cultureinknox #knoxyouthservices @knoxyouthservices.

12. All photos will be displayed at Knox Festival 2018.

13. 9 prizes will be awarded. 8 prizes will be judged at Knox Festival by festival patrons; the final prize will be awarded by The Project judging panel. The judging panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
