Engage Workshop and Programs

Victoria State Government

Engage Workshops and programs are specific activities for young people in Knox to support engagement in their local community whilst building skills and experience, to support them in their current and future education and employment. All aspects of the proposed initiatives will assist young people in developing capacity to actively participate in civic, economic and social activities in Knox.

Engage workshops and programs are facilitated by Knox City Council Youth Services and supported by Victorian Government.

Freaky Photography Skills Workshops

This workshop is for young people aged 10-25 years who live, work, study or have a connection to the City of Knox presented in partnership with Knox Photographic Society.

Learn how to use camera features to take eerie, ghostly and weird photographs at one of Knox’s spookiest places!

Turn your film making ideas into reality (with the equipment you already have!!). Learn about camera angles, safety and lots of tricks and tips.

Film Making & Special Effects Make Up Workshop

This workshop is for young people aged 10-16 years who live, work, study or have a connection to the City of Knox.

Over 2 days you will learn special effects make-up to turn yourself into a creepy character & make your own film at one of Knox’s spookiest places.

Film Club for Young People

Knox Youth Services and Play Animation are offering young people the opportunity to be part of a Film Club. Film Club gives Young people 10-16 years a chance to explore film making and develop their skills over the course of a number of weeks alongside other young people who are interested in film.

Youth Action Group; The Project

The Youth Action Group; The Project is looking for new members!

Are you aged between 14 – 18 years? Do you live, work, study or have a connection to City of Knox?
Are you a young person passionate about cultural diversity in Knox?

Music and Mindfulness for Young People

Do you love music? Would you like to learn to use music to cope with difficult thoughts/feelings?

Music & Mindfulness is a safe, supportive group for young people 12-15 years of age who live, work, study or are connected to Knox and experience anxiety and/or depression.
No musical skills or performing required.
Just come listen to music with us and try some new stuff like mindful drawing, relaxation, or journaling/song-writing.

The group begins Tuesday 17 October 2017.
