What's On

High Fidelity

High Fidelity

Presented By SLAMS Musical Theatre Company

High Fidelity follows the adventures of Rob, a record store owner who knows almost everything there is to know about pop music, but almost nothing about how to keep a girl. Rob's love life, already a broken record of heartache, falls off the charts completely when he gets dumped by Laura. But that just sets him up for a romantic comeback. With a little help from his music, he goes through a painful re-evaluation of his life and lost loves and he slowly learns that he has to grow up and let go of his self-centered view of the world before he can find real happiness.

Lyrics by Amanda Green / Music by Tom Kitt / Book by David Lindsay-Abaire
Based on the novel by Nick Hornby and the Touchstone Pictures film starring John Cusack, Jack Black and Catherine Zeta-Jones

FoRT

Presented by the Knox Community Arts Centre

Asking for Trouble presents FoRT a circus/physical theatre production, which delves into the art of play and the creation of worlds from everyday objects.

Two strange characters appear hunting for whispers of adventure. In a series of vignettes a couch, table, cushions, sheets and broomsticks transform into rockets, trampolines, cliffs and tents places to explore. Images appear and disappear.

FoRT is full of ridiculous clowning, spectacular acrobatics, poetic visual imagery and celebrates the kind of creative genius that has been known to turn lounge rooms into volcanoes, trees into castles and cardboard boxes into racing cars.

“Conjures up the spirit of kids’ adventure… spectacular acrobatic work… enchanting."
Caitlin Crowley, Chortle
