Council Meetings

Council's decision-making meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The meeting timetable for 2020 is available below.

From 30 March 2020 meetings are being live streamed on Council's website.

We are urging people not to physically attend Council meetings given concerns with COVID-19.

Our Councillors and staff cannot avoid attending but you can. Please help protect their health and safety as well as your own, and view live stream via our website.

Should you wish to submit a question to Council, they will only be accepted using the online form (see link below).

Questions can be submitted prior to 6:45pm.

Questioners do not need to be in attendance to heave their questions read at the meeting. Due to social distancing protocols, any questioners in attendance will not be given an opportunity to speak to their question.

Ordinary Council Meetings

Ordinary Council Meetings are generally held on the fourth Monday of each month (excluding the December meeting).

Council's Meeting procedure includes public question time as a standard item on the Agenda in order to facilitate community participation in the meeting. If you like, you can submit a question to Council using the following online form.

Questions must be received no later than 6:45pm on the night of the Council meeting.

Strategic Planning Committee Meetings

The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) is a Special Committee which comprises solely of Councillors. The Committee meets 11 times each year generally on the second Monday of each month. The Strategic Planning Committee has delegated authority from Council to consider a broad range of issues and with less formal meeting procedures, enables more discussion between Councillors on strategic matters when required.

Special Meetings of Council

Council may from time to time call a Special Meeting of the Council to consider matters such as the proposed Budget and Election of Mayor.
