| How the YIAC evolved | | The Youth Issues Advisory Committee (YIAC) was established in 2001 to guide the development of the Youth Plan 2001 – 2003.
Over the period 2001 - 2003 the Youth Issues Advisory Committee:
| was responsible for implementation of the Knox Youth Plan; | | discussed the varied current youth and service issues; and | | was responsible for the continued development of the Youth Plan and policies. |
| In 2004 the Youth Issues Advisory Committee reviewed and adjusted the Terms of Reference. It also provided advice and guidance to the development and implementation of the ‘Youth Plan 2005 - 2009 young people: the future, of our tomorrow’.
Since Council has adopted the Youth Plan 2005 – 2009, the YIAC has continued to oversee the implementation of the Youth Plan, and discuss the varied youth and service issues including in 2005 the development of Council’s Youth Charter.
Currently the YIAC Terms of Reference has been reviewed and amended to represent the committee accurately.
