Planning

Planning Services are responsible for the administration of the Knox Planning Scheme, which includes the consideration of applications for planning permits and ensuring compliance with planning permits and controls.

The Knox Planning Scheme requires a planning permit to be obtained for many land uses and developments including more than one house on a site (multi-dwellings or units), industrial and commercial development, subdivision of land or buildings, and in some instances of tree removal and other matters.

Applications for planning permits are assessed against the controls, policies and guidelines set out in the Knox Planning Scheme and the relevant State Government legislation. A fee is required for most planning permit applications.

Kingston Links Golf Course - Earthworks (cut and fill), buildings and works, and removal of vegetation

Council has received a Planning Application for Earthworks (cut and fill), Buildings and Works, and Removal of Native Vegetation at 14 Corporate Avenue, Rowville; 1 Caribbean Drive, Scoresby; Reserve & 889R Wellington Road, Rowville, also known as Kingston Links Golf Course.

The application was recently advertised to the local community. The advertising period has now closed and Council will make a decision on the application.

Wantirna Caravan Park Redevelopment

At its Ordinary Meeting of Council on 24 July 2017, Council resolved to issue a Notice of Decision to Refuse to Grant a Planning Permit for the construction of 294 dwellings, subdivision of land, easement relocation, alteration of access to a Road Zone Category 1 and removal of native vegetation at 203 Mountain Highway, Wantirna (Wantirna Caravan Park).
