What to expect at the Knox Schools Expo

Knox Schools Expo

Each secondary school in Knox is invited to attend and promote their school at the Knox Schools Expo.

The evening provides parents, families and young people with an opportunity to explore and discuss key factors to consider when choosing a secondary school for the future, including the young person's social and emotional wellbeing which is an essential consideration at the time of transition.

Previous School Expos have allowed attendees to; have conversation time with representatives from Knox Secondary schools and community organisations; hear from a Guest Speaker presenting on ways you can support your child through the transition from primary to secondary; and participate in a Q&A panel session with youth and education representatives, who will provide the audience with an opportunity to explore/discuss critical factors when selecting a secondary school.

Knox Schools Expo evening

The Knox Schools Expo is an annual information night provided to parents, guardians and carers of Years 5 & 6 students transitioning to secondary school in the near future.

The Knox Schools Expo took place on Thursday 21 March, 2019 with a new format, which included some new guest speakers that presented 2 sessions to families at the event.

Thanks to the schools and their representatives, guest speakers, Eastern Regional Library, Knox Innovation Opportunity and Sustainability Centre, headspace Knox, Parentzone and Latrobe Community Health who were involved to make the night a successful evening.

We hope the Knox Schools Expo gave families an opportunity to explore school's information, discuss any concerns or issues that will help support their child's transition from Primary to Secondary school.

Guest Speakers, Chris Daicos, Developing Potential in Organisations, as well as Helen Reeves and Anne Burgoyne, Department of Education and Training have provided their presentations which can be found at the bottom of this page.
