Transitioning from Primary to Secondary School

What to expect at the Knox Schools Expo

Knox Schools Expo

Each secondary school in Knox is invited to attend and promote their school at the Knox Schools Expo.

The evening provides parents, families and young people with an opportunity to explore and discuss key factors to consider when choosing a secondary school for the future, including the young person's social and emotional wellbeing which is an essential consideration at the time of transition.

The evening will allow attendees to; have conversation time with representatives from Knox Secondary schools and community organisations; hear from Guest Speaker, Rod Dungan, Thriving Youth Australia who will present ways you can support your child through the transition from primary to secondary; and a Q&A panel session to youth and education representatives, who will provide the audience with an opportunity to explore/discuss critical factors when selecting a secondary school.

Rod Dungan from Thriving Youth Australia as the guest speaker has provided presentation notes on 'Choosing a School'. These notes are available via the downloadable link at the bottom of this page.
