Community Volunteer Registration for Knox Council Events

The following form is for community volunteers who wish to register their interest in assisting Council's Events team with tasks at the Stringybark Festival 2017.

Terms and Conditions for Volunteers

As a volunteer, the following conditions apply:

1. No payment will be made to you by Knox City Council.

2. You are volunteering for Stringybark Festival 2017.

3. Your Project Manager for the festival is Kate Dunlop.

4. Volunteers are required to act in a responsible manner and in accordance with advised operating rules or procedures for the abovementioned, activity. The personal accident insurance policy held by Knox City Council covers volunteers while performing activities authorised by Council.

5. Any wilful or deliberate contravention of the advised rules or procedures causing injury may not be covered by Council’s insurance.

6. Should any injury occur to you while you are acting as a volunteer of Council, you must notify Council immediately or as soon as practicable.

7. Any accident which occurs in which injury or property damage to other parties may arise, must be reported immediately or as soon as practicable to Festival Staff.

8. Under the term of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, you must follow all established practices, procedures and instructions of Council which apply to the tasks you have volunteered to perform.

9. You are expected to perform the task you have volunteered to perform with all due care, skill and diligence.

10. All Knox City Council Festivals and Events volunteers are required to have both a valid Working with Children check and agree to undertake a Crime Check completed prior to volunteering.

11. Knox City Council will organise a Crime Check. The Crime Check is conducted at no cost to the volunteer.

12. Volunteers will be asked to complete an online Health & Safety induction and onsite site induction prior to volunteering with Knox City Council.

Volunteer Availability, Skills and Experience

* It is important to the organisation and operation of the event that you are available on the days and time you have selected. If you cannot attend your shift, please advise the Volunteer Coordinator ASAP.
All volunteers are REQUIRED to attend a 1 hour induction session.
