Upcoming Knox Parent Information Workshop

Supporting Girls on the Spectrum

This informative workshop is for parents, carers, and guardians of girls in grades 5 & 6 at primary school and years 7 to 9 at secondary school who are on the Autism Spectrum.

Charlinda Parsons, Occupational Therapist, Spectrum Journey has over 20 years' experience supporting girls on the Autism Spectrum; in early intervention, private practice, in schools and community health services. Charlinda will explore practical strategies, ideas and encourage to support girls on the Autism Spectrum.

Topics include: Hygiene and self-care, Puberty, Executive Function and Supporting girls with sensory strategies to assist with anxiety.

Knox Youth Services Resource Guide (2019) - Poster and Booklet

The Knox Youth Services Resource Guide is a resource designed for schools, agencies, general practitioners and workers that provide support and guidance to young people between the ages of 10 – 25 years in Knox.

This new guide has been developed and produced in a Poster (A2) format and a Booklet format. If you would like a copy of the Resource Guide in Poster format or booklet format, contact Megan Parker, Youth Administrative Officer on 9298 8000 or email megan.parker@knox.vic.gov.au to arrange pick up or delivery.

Masked - Short Film Premiere

Masked youth film  Free to Be Me

Masked is a short film created and produced by a group of incredible LGBTIQ+ young people aged 15 - 18 years. The young people were supported by Knox City Council's Youth Services team and Momentum Studios Australia.

The film is the story of High Schooler, Zoe, struggling to come out as a trans man. After knowing who they truly are for a while, Zoe finds themself fatigued by their fear of whether others will accept them or not.
