The YIC is located at Knox Ozone and provides information, advice, individual assistance and referral for young people and their families.

Information and individual assistance is available for a variety of reasons including: family conflict; accommodation; drug and alcohol issues; relationships; sexual health; sexuality; employment and training; consumer rights and responsibilities; and resources related to studying.

The service is also available to parents, teachers, youth workers and others working on behalf of young people.

Programs and Information @ YIC

Information is available on a variety of subjects including: Knox Youth Services, accommodation, drugs and alcohol, counselling, employment and training, legal, consumer rights and responsibilities, relationships, and resources relating to studies.

As well as obtaining information, young people are welcome to come in and talk to the workers, exploring the various options to find their best outcome.

Often young people find it helpful to talk through their problems with someone who is objective, allowing them to look at their situation from a different and perhaps clearer perspective.

Where appropriate, referrals will be made to more specialised services.

The YIC can also provide information on programs and services that operate from the Youth Information Centre, or through Knox Youth Services.
