Coffee for a Cause

Aussie Veterans Coffee Co business owner John McNeill

Located in the heart of Boronia, the Aussie Veterans Coffee Co team have been working tirelessly to help those in need.

With the generous donations they received from the community, business owner John McNeill and his team have provided over 400 free meals to those in need, and worked closely with Upway RSL to give free bread.

To thank Frontline workers, Aussie Veterans Coffee Co offered free coffee as a small token of appreciation for the amazing work they do every day. During the state-wide lockdown period, the team made a long journey to the metro-regional border points in their food van to offer free coffee to the police and military.

“We wanted the Police and Military to have free coffee at the checkpoints. So we drove the coffee plungers to all the checkpoints and kept stocking up on coffee beans so they had a supply,” John said.

John is no stranger to helping others, as an Australian veteran he has dedicated the last 10 years advocating for veteran affairs. He opened the café business with the compensation he received from his own injuries obtained whilst serving on the frontline to help this cause. All profits from his café goes towards supporting veterans’ health and wellbeing, and providing them with employment opportunities.

John shares that this work wouldn’t have been possible without the community, and thanked the community for their generous support and donations.
