Building Permits, Fees, Forms and Checklists

Council's Building Services offers a competitive and professional approach to all building and construction works.

Building Permits are usually issued within ten (10) working days, once all the necessary documentation and prescribed fees have been submitted to Council. Our fees are consistent with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors and we provide a 24 hour booking inspection service.

How do I lodge a building permit application?

Online lodgement for Building Permits is now available.

Applications will no longer be accepted by email.

A lodgement fee of $121.90 and flat Application fee of $700 applies to all building permit application types when submitting them online.

A Building Officer will then undertake a preliminary assessment of your proposal, and advise you if any additional prescribed application fees, levies or information are required.

To submit your application, you should have the following information ready:

  • A Certificate of Title, including title plan and any encumbrances, and a search receipt no older than 3 months
  • Building Plans (Site plan, Floor Plan, Elevations, Sectional drawings and Specifications)
  • Contact details for your Builder, Architect, Engineer (if known)
