Supporting families in the development of happy and healthy children and communities is important to the City of Knox. The Maternal and Child Health Service offers a wide range of programs that provide families with information related to parenting, children’s behaviour and children’s development. These programs may be offered in partnership with other community agencies.

Breast Feeding Help Line - Australia Breastfeeding Association

The Breastfeeding Helpline is available seven days a week. It is staffed by trained, volunteer counsellors who answer calls on a roster system in their own homes.

Post and Antenatal Depression Association (PANDA)

PANDA provides vital support, information, referral and counselling to thousands of Australian parents and their families. Callers do not need to have a diagnosis of antenatal or post natal depression to make contact with the help line. PANDA is keen to support any new parent struggling during pregnancy or after the birth of their baby, as well as their partner, family and friends.

Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre

Immigrant Women’s Domestic Violence Service (IWDVS)

IWDVS gives voice and provides culturally sensitive services, statewide, to meet the needs of women and children from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds (CALD) backgrounds affected by domestic violence. The service operate Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
