Wendy Yu – Acts of Holding Dance

Acts of Holding Dance is a video projection featuring dancers performing in slow motion, capturing the documentation of the dancer’s past.

Acts of Holding Dance is a large-scale projection installation. It features dancers who have been digitally manipulated and slowed down.

The work was developed during an artist residency at the Centre for Projection Art. It was inspired by Anna McDonald’s thesis paper about the nature of loss. This idea is exaggerated through movement composition.
