National Sorry Day ceremony

Join us to remember and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities.

Knox City Council will observe National Sorry Day on Thursday 26 May 2022.

We recognise the grief, suffering and loss suffered by the Stolen Generations.

We will raise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags in recognition of National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week.

The event will include:

  • a traditional Welcome to Country
  • fire lighting and smoking ceremony
  • guest speaker Rueben Berg
  • didgeridoo performance
  • dance performance by the Dungala Dancers

Please register your attendance by Tuesday 24 May 2022.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or are isolating, please stay at home. 

This event is wheelchair and pram accessible. Prepare for your visit by viewing the Knox Civic Centre access key.
