Mental Health Awareness Training for Knox clubs

Those who are involved in a local sport or community group know that COVID-19 restrictions are a challenge for our community, and impact our mental health.

To support Knox clubs and their members, Council is offering a free Mental Health Awareness Training program to all clubs. The free, 90 minute sessions are available online or in-club (when restrictions allow).

The sessions, developed by Headspace and delivered by Leisure Networks will help to

  • destigmatise and increase the understanding of mental health within the Knox community
  • encourage participants to seek professional help when required and have confidence in assisting someone else to seek help
  • build resilience amongst participants

It’s a rare opportunity that these sessions are offered free to clubs and it is the perfect way for clubs to bring their members together to help build resilience within the community, and equip club members with the skills to support their mates when they need it. We may not be able get out to play right now, but we can still connect and support each other.

Booking a group session for your sporting club or community group is easy and can be done via this booking information form.

To learn more about the program, please get in touch with our Club Development team on 9298 8000.
