- Start high school feeling confident
Making the transition to high school is a significant change for students and can sometimes cause worry.
In this workshop, students will learn about:
- Being prepared: routines, homework, public transport and uniforms
- Behaviour: time management, being more independent, bullying and anxiety
- Social media: the good parts and how to manage the negative parts and safety online
- Friendships: common worries and some great hacks for making friends in high school
- Brain booster chemicals: how technology affects them, their role in mental health and how to boost their brains on and off screens.
The workshop will be presented by Kate Wilde from the Human Development Workshop. It will involve a variety of discussions, strength-based activities and awareness of supports available during transition times to make the move to high school a smoother and more positive experience.
Happening on Monday 23 January 2023, from 9:30am - 12:30pm at the Knox Civic Centre, the event will be free, with morning tea also included.
Bookings are essential.
