We are excited to offer two webinars about our natural world - Insect discovery and The world of fungi

The Insect discovery webinar will be held on Sunday 19 September at 6pm. 

Learn some fascinating facts about local insects, led by experts from the Entomological Society of Victoria. The webinar includes the following topics: 

  • Indigenous Plants for Indigenous Insects
    Learn about the importance of indigenous plant species in increasing indigenous insect biodiversity in urban areas.Presenter: Dr Luis Mata, School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences, University of Melbourne.
  • Ants of Victoria
    An introduction to ant species diversity in Victoria.
    Presenter: Daniel Kurek, Deakin University, Bachelor of Science Student
  • Introduction to Australian Psyllids
    An introduction to Australian Psyllids and the role they play in ecosystems.
    Presenter: Dr Francesco Martoni, Entomology Research Scientist, Agriculture Victoria Research (AVR)

Learn about fungi within Knox and the intriguing role they play in our natural environment. Presented by Fungi for Land.

The webinar also includes tips on recording fungi in iNaturalist and question time.
