Knox Youth Services Providers Network (KYSPN)

Membership is open to all interested people, but the Network focuses on those who provide 'professional' youth or specialist services to young people in Knox and support the above purposes.

Typically meetings are attended by school Student Welfare Coordinators, Youth Workers, Employment Services, Youth Housing Workers, Health Workers, Counsellors, Community Workers, Youth Pastors, Police etc.

The KYSPN is facilitated by Knox City Council Youth Services Community Projects Worker, whose role is to support, resource and convene the Network at the members’ direction.

The Knox Youth Service Providers Network performs the following functions:

  • Informs members about local youth services and other matters relevant to their work.
  • Provides members with a better range of referral options for the young people they deal with, and a better understanding of those agencies.
  • Identifies needs, issues and service gaps for young people in Knox.
  • Acts to address these needs, issues and gaps.

Outer Eastern Youth Services Providers Network (OEYSPN)

After four years of collaboration between 3 local government areas; Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges to bring Annual Outer East YSPN meetings to the collective workers and agencies in the Outer East, a new model of delivering the meetings will be trialled throughout 2016. As these meetings was found to work successfully in 2016, it has continued to be implemented into the future.

After the annual combined meeting, the meetings will rotate through the three local government areas to cover a range of topics which impact young people across the region.

Local government Youth Service Providers Network meetings may still be held in the local area as well as the OEYSPN combined meetings.
