Aged Care Services in Australia are currently going through a process of reform. In today's new environment, access to Aged Care services, in the first instance, is dependent upon your age.
Under 65 Years
The Victorian Government continues to fund services for people aged under 65 years (under 50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) under the Home & Community Care (HACC) Program for Young People
with some clients transferring to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
as it rolls out in Victoria.
65 Years and Over
Since 1 July 2016, services for people aged 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) are directly funded and managed through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
