Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
From 1 November 2025, the new Aged Care Act introduces strengthened Quality Standards to ensure older people receiving aged care are:
- at the centre of their aged care
- treated with dignity and respect
- valued for their identity, culture, and diversity
- given choice and included in aged care decisions
- provided with understandable information
- supported to connect to their community.
These standards set the level of care older people can expect, helping them live their best life.
