Basketball game at the Knox Basketball Centre in Boronia.

Knox Basketball Stadium

The Knox Basketball Stadium is a major training and competition venue for the Knox community and is managed on behalf of the Knox City Council by Knox Basketball Incorporated.

Update

Council is currently investigating future basketball demand across the municipality and will consider a report later this year.

In doing so, Council will also review Boronia Stadium, with a view to providing further direction on the future of this facility, towards the end of 2017.

The Boronia stadium has some significant infrastructure issues, which may prove difficult to address in a financially responsible manner.

Also, the Boronia stadium is based at a key site for the ongoing management of stormwater in Boronia and as such, the existing retarding basin may need to be increased.

There are potentially a number of options Council will investigate and consider, however it is unlikely that any substantive changes to the playing of basketball at Boronia will occur within the next 3 to 5 years.

Council remains committed to continuing to work closely with Knox Basketball and other key stakeholders in ensuring an optimal outcome for our community.
