- Stand For Knox City Council
If you are interested in becoming a candidate in this year’s Council election, consider attending the free Stand for Council information sessions.
Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) is running candidate information sessions across Victoria, between May to August 2024.
The information session will cover the following topics:
- The election process and candidate requirements
- Local government and the important role councils play for our local communities
- The role and responsibility of a Councillor, including time commitment and decision making
- What newly elected councillors can expect soon after the elections

Attendees will receive a Citizen to Councillor Guide 2024, a resource designed to help you understand the importance of this elected position.
Yarra Ranges Council is hosting the Metropolitan East Region information session on 9 May. Knox City Council CEO Bruce Dobson will be participating in the CEO panel to share insights, and answer questions from the audience.
