- Young Female Sporting Leaders Program Returns To Knox
The Young Sporting Leaders Program is a leadership and personal development program facilitated by Council’s Youth Services team.
First delivered in 2019, the program was established to offer workshops for 14–18-year-old female members of Knox sporting clubs, that focused on developing leadership skills, resilience and the importance of mental health.
The program will be run over one day on Tuesday 27 June 2023 at Rowville Community Centre during the school holidays, where it is hoped they’ll take the skills learnt in the program back to their respective sporting clubs.
To attend, clubs are asked to nominate up to two members detailing why they believe they should attend the workshop (there is no pre-requisite for participants to be in an existing leadership role – e.g. captain). Individuals can also nominate a young person, so long as they are involved in sport or leisure group in Knox.
Council’s Leisure Service Officers will then assess nominations and contact the successful participants by 16 May 2023. Up to 16 individuals will be chosen in total.
Nominations close 12 May 2023!
For any questions regarding the program or nomination process, please contact Leisure Services Officer, Dayna Nicholas, on [email protected] or 9298 8208.
We look forward to reading through your nominations!
