Community Engagement - 16 November 2019

Thank you to all those that came along and shared their ideas onsite on Saturday 16 November and Saturday 30 November at 257 Dorset Road, Boronia.

257 Dorset Road Boronia is the site of the former Boronia Youth Hall, which was demolished in early 2019 to create a temporary open space for community.

The long-term use of the site has not been determined and it is expected that this site will be available in its current state for 2-3 years.

The ideas and information provided by community will assist in determining the next steps for the temporary site.

Ideas Shared Online

Why was the hall demolished?

The former Boronia Youth Hall has been demolished because it had reached the end of its useful life.

There are a number of similar venues available in the Boronia area which are better equipped and more appropriate for community use.

It is unlikely the hall will be rebuilt.

Future use of this site

The long term use of this site, beyond the current temporary open space, has not yet been determined.

The Boronia Renewal Strategy will provide more information about the future of this site once finalised. In the meantime, we will use the space to provide better access to the station and other potential uses.
