Living Longer Living Stronger

An accredited Council of the Aging (COTA) resistance training program for people over 50 which aims to increase bone density, muscle strength and metabolic rate through exercise and lifting weights.

Research has shown that the Living Longer Living Stronger program also helps to manage or prevent medical conditions including Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, arthritis and depression.

Living Longer Living Stronger classes at Rowville Community Centre are run by qualified instructors who will help tailor exercises based on your Doctor's referral and your own personal goals. Classes are run weekdays at various times in the morning, afternoon or evening and places are limited to 12 people per class. COTA strongly recommends that participants attend Living Longer classes twice a week for the best results.

Please find below a list of classes that are available:

  • Monday & Thursday 11:00am – 12:00pm & 12:15pm – 1:15pm.
  • Monday 6.00pm-7.00pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday 9:45am – 10:45am & 6:00pm – 7:00pm.
  • Thursday 7:00pm – 8:00pm.
  • Wednesday & Friday 9:15am – 10:15am & 10:30am – 11:30am.

$7.00 per session.
Classes for Term 4 2019 have reached full capacity. A waiting list system applies for all further enrolments.

Rowville Senior Citizens Club

A social club for people aged 55+ years. The club offers a range of activities including carpet bowls, bingo, card games and day trips. They operate on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Senior Sports

An active exercise program for over 50’s. The group takes part in badminton, tennis and table tennis. They operate on Monday and Fridays from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

$5.50 per session - casual.
