- Make your veggie patch thrive
Growing your own vegetables has many benefits. It can be a great way to save money and reduce waste. Also, vegetables can be fresher, tastier, and offer more nutrients if grown during their natural growing season.
To learn the benefits of growing vegetables in wicking beds, join Adam Grubb from Very Edible Gardens for this free workshop. Wicking beds are self-watering garden beds and are considered one of the most energy-efficient ways of growing your veggies. They prevent water from leaving the bottom of the bed by using a waterproof liner, encouraging soil to absorb water, and keeping it moist and suitable for growing.
Adam has been making wicking beds since 2008. In this workshop, he'll share everything you need to know about how to make your own wicking bed, how they work, and how to look after them to ensure you create the best-growing environment for your favourite veggies.
