Knox Factor applicants are required to read and agree to the following conditions:
Applicants are committing to perform at one or more of the Semi Final and Grand Final depending on their success, as per the following dates:
- Semi Final: 6pm to 9pm, Thursday 21 August 2025.
- Grand Final: 6pm to 9pm, Thursday 9 October 2025.
Applicants must:
- Be a solo vocalist
- Apply in the age category that they will be as of Saturday 13 December 2025:
- 5 years – 11 years
- 12 years – 15 years
- 16 years – 20 years
- Open – 21+ years
Audition conditions
- If you are not available for these dates you are not eligible for this competition.
- Applicants either live, work, study or play (eg. sports, music classes, art classes etc) within the City of Knox. Knox Council reserves the right to gain further detail to whether applicants; live, work, study or play in the city of Knox.
- Applicants are not professional acts (signed to a label or making a living from their music) as this is an amateur singing contest
- Audition applications and videos must be received by 11:59 pm Friday 27 June 2025 and the recording must be live, no amplification/microphones, either acapella or accompanied by one acoustic instrument or a backing track with no vocal backing.
- Contestants under 18 must have permission to perform from their parent/guardian (via online application form).
- Conditions may apply if you were a 1st place winner in the Knox Factor 2024 Season.
NOTE: If you are a 1st place winner, you may apply for Knox Factor 2025 if you are entering into a different age category that you were a 1st prize winner of.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their audition by Wednesday 2 July 2025.
Competition conditions
- Successful applicants can sing acapella, or with music accompaniment (can be one other acoustic instrumentalist). Those using recorded backing tracks must not have backing vocals on the track.
- Reverb may be permitted in the live stages of the competition. However, this will be applied to ALL contestants equally.
- Songs must adhere to the time limit:
- 2 minute length for the performance for the Semi Final
- 5 minute or full length performance permitted for the Grand Final
- Assistance can be requested of how to cut backing tracks that will be required to be supplied for each round of the competition.
- No swearing or offensive lyric content is permitted - G Rated lyrical content ONLY.
- All acts must stick to the time frame of your category for your performances, or you will be disqualified from the competition.
- The organisers hold the right to cancel any act they see as unfit for our stage, being dress, lyric content and gestures.
- Contestants 14 years and under must be always accompanied by their parent/guardian.
- No two acts will be permitted to perform the same song in their Semi Final or the Grand Final, and the organisers will advise of required changes if necessary.
- The judge's decision and rulings will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Microphones and microphone stands will be supplied by the organisers for each live competition round.
- Any additional equipment required must be supplied by the performer and approved by the organisers in advance (ensure you have received approval prior to the Semi Final /Grand Final day).
