Request Adjoining Owner Details for Protection Works

You need to submit an adjoining owner's information request to obtain the contact details for a neighbouring property owner for the purpose of issuing protection work notice.

The request must be related to building work carried out under a building permit.

What you will need

• 5-10 minutes to complete this form. You cannot save progress once you start.
• Copies of the Building Permit Application (Form 1) and the Determination (Form 6) from the Building Surveyor in PDF or Word document format.
• An application fee applies. You will receive an invoice to pay after the form is submitted.

• It is an offence under section 246 of the Building Act 1993 for a person to knowingly make any false or misleading statement or provide any false or misleading information to a person or body carrying out any function under the Building Act 1993 or the regulations.
• I declare that I am the applicant and that all the information provided in this application is true and correct and that the owner (if not myself but the person/s nominated) has been notified of this permit application.
• Where the applicant is not the owner, I declare that I am authorised by the owner of the building or land to make this application on their behalf, pursuant to Section 248 of the Building Act 1993 . I make this application in accordance with Schedule 4 - Form 6A of the Building regulations 2018.
• I declare that I understand it is against the law to provide false or misleading information in this application and that doing so may result in a heavy fine and the cancellation of this application or permit.
• I understand that information provided by Council may be in electronic form. Unless otherwise stated by the applicant, Council takes the application as consent to that method of provision.
• I understand that the personal information requested on this form is being collected by Knox City Council (Council) for the purpose of assessing my application under the Building Act 1993.
• I understand that the personal information will be used by Council for that primary purpose or directly related secondary purposes. The information may also be used to update Council databases to assist Council in discharging its functions or providing services. If the information is not collected, my application cannot be processed.
• Requests for access to and/or amendment of personal information should be made to Council’s Chief Privacy Officer.
